HEALTH AND SAFETY

Varsiwave holds the fundamental belief that every worker should return home safely and unharmed to their loved ones. To uphold this commitment, we prioritize a culture of Zero Harm throughout our operations. In accordance with the Mine Health and Safety Act, we have developed and implemented a comprehensive safety policy aimed at preventing injuries and promoting the well-being of our workforce.

Our safety initiatives encompass various measures to ensure compliance and foster a proactive approach to safety:

Employee Engagement: We actively encourage employees, contractors, and community members to prioritize safety at all times while on-site. This includes promoting awareness of safety protocols and empowering individuals to take responsibility for their own safety and the safety of others.
Regular Communication: To reinforce safety principles and best practices, we conduct daily toolbox talks, where important safety topics are discussed and relevant information is shared among workers. Additionally, we hold weekly Visible Felt Leadership (VFL) meetings, providing an opportunity for leaders to engage directly with employees on safety matters. Furthermore, monthly Safety Committee meetings serve as forums for collaborative discussions on safety improvements and initiatives.
Inspections and Audits: Regular inspections are integral to identifying potential hazards and ensuring compliance with safety standards across all Varsiwave operations. We conduct thorough audits to assess the effectiveness of our safety measures and identify areas for improvement. Through these audits, we aim to maintain a safe working environment and continuously enhance our safety protocols.
At Varsiwave, safety is not just a priority; it is a core value ingrained in everything we do. By fostering a safety-conscious culture and implementing proactive measures, we are committed to achieving our goal of Zero Harm and ensuring the well-being of our employees and stakeholders.
